WhatsApp Wrapped

Your year in one WhatsApp chat, the way Spotify does music: who texts the most, who starts the conversation, who replies fastest, your longest streak and your top emoji. Save it as a picture to share. It's free, there's nothing to install, and the chat never leaves your device.

How to make your WhatsApp Wrapped

  1. Export the chat from WhatsApp. On iPhone: open the chat, tap the name at the top, then Export Chat and Without Media. On Android: open the chat, tap ⋮, then More, Export chat and Without media.
  2. Open it here. Choose the .zip or .txt above. On a phone, open this page in the phone's browser and pick the file from Files or Downloads.
  3. Read your card. It opens on the latest year in the export. Pick another year, or All years, from the menu above it.
  4. Click Save as image. You get a 1080×1920 picture, the size of a story. On a phone the share sheet opens, so you can save it or post it straight away.

What's on the card, and how it's counted

TileHow it's worked out
MessagesEvery message in that year, and how many a day on the days you talked
Texts the mostThe person who sent the most messages, and their share
Starts the chatWho sends the first message after 6 hours or more of quiet most often
Fastest repliesThe lowest typical (median) reply time, counting answers within 24 hours. You need at least 3 replies to win.
Double texts the mostWho writes again most often after an hour or more with no reply
Longest streakThe most days in a row with at least one message
Busiest dayThe single day with the most messages
Top emoji and wordThe three most-used emoji, and the most-used word once filler words like "the" and "okay" are left out

A tile only shows up when there's something to show: a chat with no emoji gets no emoji tile. Below the card you'll find the full numbers for each person, when you talk most by weekday and hour, and messages per month.

Group chat Wrapped

Group chats work too, and they're the most fun: the card crowns one person for each tile. The fastest replier in a group is whoever answers the message before theirs fastest, which isn't always a reply to that message, so treat it as bragging rights rather than science. Ask the group before you post it anywhere.

Private by design

Your chat stays on your device. The page reads the export in your browser, works out the numbers there and draws the picture there too. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is saved, and there's no account. You don't need an APK or a modded WhatsApp: WhatsApp's help center warns that unsupported apps can get an account banned.

On a Mac with iMessage? There's no official iMessage Wrapped either, but free tools can make one from your Mac's Messages.

Questions

Is there an official WhatsApp Wrapped?

No. WhatsApp doesn't make a year in review of your chats (we checked on 20 October 2026). The Wrapped pages and apps you find are made by other people from a chat export, and this page is one of them: it works the numbers out in your browser.

Do I need to install an app or an APK?

No. Everything happens on this page. Be careful with "WhatsApp Wrapped" APKs and modded WhatsApp apps: WhatsApp's help center says accounts that use unsupported apps can be banned, temporarily or for good.

Is my chat uploaded?

No. The page reads the export on your own device and works everything out there, including the picture. Nothing is uploaded or saved, and the page sets no cookies. Load it, switch off Wi-Fi, and it still works.

Can I make a Wrapped for a group chat?

Yes. Export the group the same way. The card names who texts the most, who starts conversations, the fastest replier and the double-text champion across everyone in the group. Ask the group before you share it.

Why does my Wrapped start partway through the year?

Because the export does. WhatsApp limits how many recent messages one export includes, so a very busy chat can arrive without its oldest messages. The card counts what's in the file, and the summary under it shows the first and last dates.

Can I see last year, or every year together?

Yes. If the export covers more than one year, a menu above the card lets you pick a year or All years. The page opens on the latest year in the file.

Does it work for Telegram and Instagram?

Yes. The same page reads Telegram Desktop's JSON export and Instagram's message download, and the card then says Telegram Wrapped or Instagram Wrapped. The Telegram and Instagram chat analyzer pages show how to export each one.
