How we write and check our guides.
The guides on terachat.co/blog answer everyday questions about messaging on the Mac, AI replies, dating conversations and staying in touch. This page explains who publishes them, how each one is made and checked, and how to tell us when something is wrong. Last updated 21 October 2026.
Who writes and publishes them
The guides are published by Tera Labs (TERA LABS USA LLC), and each one is credited to Tera Labs as its author rather than to a single writer. Tera Labs makes Tera Chat, which gives us a stake: many guides mention Tera Chat where it fits, and our comparisons and best-of lists say plainly that we make it. We don't take payment from the apps we write about, and the guides carry no affiliate links or sponsored placements.
How a guide is made
- Research first. Each guide starts from a question people ask and from the primary sources that answer it: other companies' own help pages, pricing pages and terms, and the studies behind any statistic. We link those sources in the guide.
- Drafted with AI help. Guides are drafted with AI writing tools, working from that research, a written style guide and a fact sheet about Tera Chat. We say so here and on our about page.
- Facts about Tera Chat come from the app. Every claim about what Tera Chat does must match that fact sheet, which is checked against the app's own code. If the fact sheet doesn't support a claim, it comes out.
- A separate fact-check. After drafting, a separate review re-reads each guide against its sources: every price, date, feature, statistic and quote is checked against the page it links to. A claim the source doesn't support is corrected or removed.
- Automated checks before publishing. Before a guide can be built into the site, a checker rejects missing details, links to pages that don't exist, hype words our style guide bans, and claims about Tera Chat we know to be wrong, such as a Windows version or end-to-end encryption.
What we never do
- Invent statistics, studies, surveys, quotes, testimonials, reviews or user numbers.
- Claim we tested an app we didn't. Comparisons say how we checked each app: its own website, help center and pricing, on the date shown.
- Pass off a made-up conversation as real. Example chats are written for the guide and labelled as examples.
- Hide where another app is the better pick. Comparisons state competitors' real strengths and Tera Chat's limits: it runs only on Macs with Apple silicon and macOS 15 or later, and doesn't connect to every network.
- Give dating advice that deceives or pressures anyone. When a guide suggests AI for dating apps, it states what those apps' terms say about third-party AI tools and links our guide to them.
Dates and updates
Each guide shows the date it was published and the date of its last real update. Facts that change often, like prices, features and app availability, say when they were checked. Our sitemap tells search engines the exact time each guide last changed, taken from our version history rather than from when the site was rebuilt, so a rebuild never makes an old guide look new.
Corrections
