Terms of use

These terms cover the Tera Chat Mac app and the optional Tera Chat AI plans, both made by TERA LABS USA LLC ("we"). By using Tera Chat you agree to them. Last updated 26 October 2026.

The app

Tera Chat is free to download and use. It connects to messaging accounts you already have, from your own Mac. You're responsible for using each service in line with its own rules, and for the messages you send, including any you ask Tera Chat to send for you. Tera Chat isn't affiliated with the messaging and dating services it connects to. Those services may limit or close accounts that use automation, so use automation at your own risk.

Tera Chat AI plans

• Who can buy. Plans are for people 18 or older.
• Billing. Plans are billed monthly or yearly. Payments are handled by Stripe. Purchases are sold through Link, Stripe's merchant of record, and Link's terms of sale also apply. Link appears on your card statement. Tax is calculated at checkout by Stripe and Link, based on where you are. Plans renew automatically every month or year, as chosen, at the listed price, plus any sales tax or VAT where applicable, until you cancel.
• Starting a plan. A plan starts, and is charged, as soon as you check out. You can cancel anytime; the plan keeps working until the end of the period you've paid for.
• Cancelling. Cancel any time in Tera Chat (Settings → Tera Chat AI → Manage subscription) or at link.com. You keep your plan until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again.
• Price changes. If a price changes, we'll tell you at least 30 days before it applies to you.
• Refunds. See the refund policy. A refund also ends that plan straight away.

Your Tera Chat account

You don't need an account to use Tera Chat. If you create one, use an email address that's yours and keep that email account secure: anyone who can read its sign-in codes can sign in, and you're responsible for what happens with your account. One account is for one person. An account keeps your Tera Chat AI plan and your app settings; your messages stay on your Mac. You can delete it any time in the app (Settings → Account) or at terachat.co/account, which also sets a plan on it to end at the end of the period you've paid for. We may close an account that's used to abuse the service. What an account stores is described in the privacy policy.

Your AI allowance

Each plan includes a monthly amount of built-in AI. Your allowance refills each time a monthly plan renews. On yearly plans it refills every month, on the same day of the month as your yearly billing date, or the month's last day if it's shorter. When it's used up, built-in AI pauses until it refills. There are never extra charges. Automatic background work can use up to half of the allowance, so the things you ask for always have room. Your Tera Chat AI key is for your own use: don't share or resell it. We may suspend a key that's being used to abuse the service.

AI answers

AI can be wrong. Read suggested replies and summaries before you rely on them or send them.

Changes and availability

Tera Chat is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, as far as the law allows. We work to keep it running but can't promise it will always be available or free of errors, and features may change. As far as the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the greater of $50 or what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. If these terms change in a way that matters, we'll update this page and the date above.
